It’s flu season, here is the magic herbal remedy you need

It’s the time of year where everyone gets ill, I can think of like 10 people I know that are suffering from bad colds and sore throats at the moment, I used to get colds all the time until I discovered echinacea, the herb that fights cold/flu symptoms like a miracle, as soon as I start to feel like I’m getting a cold, I take my echinacea and it prevents it from developing further, echinacea is also able to cure several other illnesses and infections too

What exactly is echinacea and how does it work?

Echinacea is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family, it is also known as the American cornflower. Echinacea has a complex mix of active substances, some which are antimicrobial and some which have an effect on the human immune system. All species of echinacea have compounds called phenols which control the activity of a range of enzymes and cell receptors and protect the plant from infections and ultraviolet radiation damage, phenols have antioxidant properties which are good for human health

What are the different options of taking echinacea?

I personally use the drops which are meant to be taken 3 times a day, all you do is pour 15 drops into your drink and shake or stir it depending on whether it’s a cold water bottle or a hot drink or if preferred it is also available in capsules or tablets, there is also an echinacea throat spray available too

And finally where can I buy it?

Echinacea can be bought in store or online at Holland and Barrett and is also sold over the counter at various pharmacies
