Girls – love yourself, stand up for yourself and make that first move

As a strong believer in equal rights and female empowerment, I thought I’d go over a few things that society says girls aren’t allowed do or that girls get criticised for doing and talk about why it is perfectly ok to for girls do these things, nearly every day on social media, I read something that either looks down on girls or involves what girls should and shouldn’t do so I’m writing this post to empower all the females reading it

You’re allowed to love yourself

There is nothing wrong with being confident in yourself, just because someone else isn’t confident in themselves it doesn’t give them a right to pull you down for being confident, they will say that you “love yourself”, it’s a good thing to love yourself, post as many selfies as you like, wear that eye catching outfit and know what you’re worth

“I was once afraid of people saying “who does she think she is?” Now I have the courage to stand and say “this is who I am” – Oprah Winfrey

“Do your thing and don’t care if they like it” – Tina Fey

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line, you really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world” – Lucille Ball

It’s ok to make the first move

If you like a guy, ask him out on a date, if you want to make things official with the guy you’re seeing, don’t wait for him to ask you, just ask him if he wants be your boyfriend, if you go on a good date, text the guy first, use your power girl!. In 2018 a woman should be allowed to make the first move, if you don’t agree, you’re old fashioned, many women are scared to make that first move because they’re worried they’ll be seen as “desperate” but you’re not desperate, you just don’t play games

“A lot of people are afraid to say what they want, that’s why they don’t get what they want” – Madonna

“I have no problem making the first move when I see a guy I like. I was in LA when I met him. When I found out 6 weeks later that he didn’t have a girlfriend, I was like “we should throw a party, we should invite adam” – Anne Hathaway

“I did everything he did backwards and in high heels” – Ginger Rogers

You don’t have to put up with anyone’s rubbish

Whether it be a boyfriend or a friend, you don’t have to take rubbish from anyone, if someone’s not treating you the way they should, they don’t deserve the privilege of being in your life, you don’t want to give that person the opportunity to keep screwing you over, you’re worth more than that, don’t be afraid to stand up to anyone either, you have the right to do so.

“if you have enemies, good that means you stood up for something” – Eminem

“Power is not given to you. You have to take it” – Beyonce

“If I cut you off, chances are you handed me the scissors” – unknown
