Battle of the foundations: Charlotte Tilbury, Nars or Kevin Aucoin

So the other day whilst doing my make up, I realised I was running out of foundation so I headed into town to find a new one, I decided to get a few samples and wear them for a couple of days each and decide which I like best and compare the products together, I’m looking for something light to medium coverage as it is summer and something extremely hydrating as I have dry skin, I can choose from Charlotte tilbury light wonder, Nars sheer glow or Kevyn Aucoin skin illuminating

Kevyn Aucoin skin illuminating

I’ve never actually bought from Kevyn Aucoin before but have heard great things about their products including this foundation. Even though the foundation is lightweight, it is medium coverage but is buildable, it also blends into the skin perfectly and stayed on all day, with a luminous finish, it’s neither too matte or too dewy, it is also very hydrating so perfect for anyone with dry skin

Nars sheer glow

If you read my blog religiously, you’ll know Nars is one of my favourite brands, I’ve just never tried this foundation but I’ve never heard a bad word said about it. I don’t know why it’s called sheer glow as it’s not sheer, it’s light coverage but very buildable however i know where the “glow” comes from because it does have a glowy finish, it was also really easy to apply but you do have to buff it into the skin really well and you might find it is a bit on the runny side, it stayed on pretty much all day and is great for dry skin

Charlotte Tilbury light wonder

This is a foundation I have purchased before in the past, i thought I’d try a sample of it again to either remind myself why I didn’t repurchase it or remind myself why I did purchase it. This one is a very light coverage with a dewy finish, i can’t say it stays on all day, it requires touch ups, it is however really good on dry skin, it does feel a bit like a moisturiser and I can’t say it goes on effortlessly and blends to perfection, you really have to go to some work to get the finish to look flawless

And the winner is……

Kevyn Aucoin skin illuminating was the one I decided to purchase, it was a hard decision between that and sheer glow but I chose this one because it was less runny and easier to blend, it also lasted the longest, I also think it’s good to try new brands
